Massood Joomratty was born in Mauritius and educated in England. He received his law degree (LLB Hons.) from London, England, in 1994 and received his Masters in Law (LLM) in 1996. Massood was called to the Bar of England in 1995 at The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn and to the Bar of British Columbia, Canada in 1998. He is also called to the Bar in Mauritius.

Massood is a member of the Bar Council of England and Wales and a member of the Canadian Bar Association. He is also a member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. His practice consists of Immigration Law and Business Law. He specializes in Immigration Appeals, Independent (Skilled Worker category), Investor and Entrepreneur Immigration. Massood is also fluent in several languages, including French.Massood is a regular speaker at the Delta Immigrant Services. He is on the Board of Directors of the Family Services of Greater Vancouver, a non-profit organization where he also sits on the Adoption Services Committee. He gives free advice and guidance to parents adopting from overseas and sponsoring their adopted children. He is VP US-Canada Liaison of South Asian Bar Association of BC (SABA-BC). He is the resident expert on Immigration law for CanadianDesi.com and on the Management Advisory Board of The popular Canadian Immigrant Magazine, a monthly publication for immigrants.  He also runs a free Q&A, a blog and a podcast service at AskMassood.com
